Digital Empowerment of Sugihmukti Tourism Village: Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and Business Holds Video Production Training for Digital Marketing

Bandung, 30 Juli 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Telkom University continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering the community through Community Service (Abdimas) activities. One of the latest activities held was training in basic video production techniques to support digital marketing for tourist villages, particularly in Sugihmukti Village, Pasirjambu Subdistrict, Bandung Regency.

Sugihmukti Village is known as a tourist village with great potential in the natural and cultural tourism sector. However, limitations in digital marketing are a major challenge that hinders the competitiveness of these villages amid the rapid growth of digital tourism. In response to this challenge, the Abdimas team from Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and Business organized comprehensive training covering photography techniques, video editing, and content distribution strategies through social media.

This training not only focuses on improving technical skills, but also equips participants with insights into the importance of branding and storytelling in building the image of a tourist destination. This activity also involved four other tourist villages, namely Cibodas, Mekarmaju, and Tenjolaya, which simultaneously participated in the training on July 17, 2025.

“Through this training, we hope that the village community can become independent in producing quality visual content that can expand the reach of their tourism village promotion,” said a representative of the Abdimas FEB Telkom University team.

The active participation of village officials, tourism village administrators, and the local community is key to the success of this activity. The entire training program is designed to be continuously developed through post-training evaluation and mentoring. In addition, this program is also in line with the roadmap of Telkom University’s Business Innovation and Management Expertise Group (KK-IBM), which focuses on digitalization and community-based economic empowerment.

With this approach, Sugihmukti Village is expected to become a role model for successful tourism villages that adopt digital marketing strategies, and serve as an inspiration for other villages in developing their local potential in a creative and sustainable manner.
