Sejarah FEB Telkom University

MBA Bandung

FEB’s journey began in 1990 (the first phase) with the name MBA-Bandung which was the first Master in Business Administration program organizer in West Java, preceding similar programs that were then held by state universities in Bandung. At the beginning of its establishment, MBA-Bandung fully adopted the schooling system of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Philippines, which at that time was known as “Asia’s Harvard Business School”.

STMB

The second phase began in 1994 when MBA-Bandung changed its name to Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Bandung (STMB) and changed its MBA program to the Master of Management (MM) program to conform to government regulations. In addition, STMB also further diversified its MM program variants by adding MM Regular, MM Executive, and MM Cooperative Development (Co-op) programs. On the occasion of the first accreditation held by the government, STMB’s MM program obtained A (Excellent) accreditation.

STMB

The third phase began in 1997 by organizing the S1 Telecommunications and Informatics Business Management Program (MBTI) This was in line with the demands of government regulations (Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture) so that universities not only organize postgraduate programs (S2) but are also required to organize undergraduate programs (S1). In addition, there was a desire from the Board of Directors of PT Telkom (at that time held by A.A. Nasution) for STMB to take more part in the world of national higher education. Since the beginning, the MBTI undergraduate study program has been designed to be in line with the needs of the telecommunications and ICT industry. Public interest in this study program continues to increase.

STMB Telkom

The fourth phase began in 2004 by changing the name of STMB to STMB Telkom (Telkom Business Management College) based on the Decree of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 29/D/O/2006. This was intended to give a stronger identity to the scientific field of telecommunications and ICT business management. This name change was also followed by an increase in the admission capacity of the MBTI undergraduate program in order to meet market demand. In addition, the post-graduate program also added a program variant with the MM Telecommunication Business (MM Biztel) program.
