Telkom University Faculty of Economics and Business Lecturers Hold Community Service in Situ Village to Improve Financial Governance

Sumedang – Community service activities carried out by lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business in 2024 were held at SMK YPPS Sumedang, Situ Village, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. Situ Village, which has a large population and is dominated by agriculture and services, faces a number of challenges in budget management, including rapid population growth, diverse service demands, and limited resources.

As a public service center, Kelurahan Situ is required to manage the budget effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the community. However, the challenge of realizing transparency and efficiency in financial management is still a homework to be resolved. Therefore, this service activity aims to analyze the dynamics of financial management in the kelurahan, and identify factors that affect the effectiveness and efficiency of budget use.

In this activity, the importance of budget transparency was also conveyed as an effort to build public trust in government representatives at the village level. In addition, financial governance training is provided to village officials and local communities to ensure that the budget received from the central government is used in accordance with its original purpose.

Hopefully, through this activity, urban village officials can improve their ability to manage finances professionally, so that services to the community can be optimized. Not only that, community participation in understanding and overseeing budget governance is also expected to encourage the realization of a more transparent and accountable government at the village level.
