Financial Literacy Training for Entrepreneurship of Situ Village Community, Sumedang
On the last day of the event, the community service activities (Abdimas) successfully provided basic financial literacy training to the community around Situ Village, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. This was done at the SMK YPPS Sumedang Building. Although the region is known to have great entrepreneurial potential, they face major challenges in securing capital. Those who have low incomes and do not have extensive access to formal financial institutions are affected by this problem.
Alternatively, the Abdimas program was established with the aim of enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities through training centered on a basic understanding of finance. As local entrepreneurs, participants were given the knowledge to manage their business finances more efficiently, plan for capital needs, and make informed investment decisions.
In this training, participants were taught the basics of financial management, including the importance of budgeting, managing cash flow, and recording financial transactions. They are also taught how to raise funds, find funding opportunities, and how to improve the company’s creditability.
The aim of this training is to equip the community with the knowledge and skills needed to not only survive but also thrive in the competitive business world. With these skills, they are expected to overcome current economic challenges, improve the quality of their businesses, and capitalize on existing opportunities to achieve significant progress.
It is expected that this Abdimas activity will have a positive impact on sustainable business growth, financial independence, and economic empowerment of the Situ community. Local communities are expected to overcome the economic challenges they have faced before and gain more from their entrepreneurship.
The event was closed with remarks from the Vice Dean 1 of Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and Business, who praised the success of the training and hoped that this activity would bring sustainable positive change to the Situ community.
