
Entrepreneurship & People Management Workshop: Keys to Success for Resilient SMEs
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a very important role in the economy of many countries, including Indonesia. SMEs are not only a major contributor to job creation, but also drive innovation, accelerate local economic growth, and support equitable development. However, many SMEs face various challenges in managing their operations, especially in terms of entrepreneurial character and human resource management.
On November 11-12, 2024 a workshop on “Entrepreneurial Character and HR Management in Small and Medium Enterprises” was held by the Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Telkom University, in collaboration with the Wredatama Republic of Indonesia Association (PWRI) West Java. This activity is a strategic step to improve business management capacity, strengthen entrepreneurial mentality, and create a productive and high-performing team.
Entrepreneurial character is a basic element that every entrepreneur must have to face business challenges. Traits such as courage, tenacity, innovation and risk-taking are qualities that are critical to creating and managing a successful business.

HR management in SMEs is often a big challenge due to limited resources and experience in team management. Competent and motivated human resources are key to the success of a business. Therefore, the HR management workshop will help SMEs to understand how to manage employees effectively, build a solid team, and increase work productivity. Good HR management not only involves proper recruitment, but also includes training, career development, and maintaining employee satisfaction and motivation.
The workshop was designed to provide SMEs with the understanding and practical skills needed to grow their businesses. Some of the main objectives of this workshop include:

Through this workshop, participants will be trained to develop effective interpersonal communication and leadership skills, enabling them to become leaders who are respected and followed by team members. The occurrence of conflict in a team is natural, but it is the way it is resolved that determines the success of the organization. In addition, employee motivation is also a very important factor to improve performance. The workshop also discussed how to resolve conflicts wisely and motivate employees to remain productive.
After attending this workshop, participants are expected to manage their teams and businesses more effectively. They will have more knowledge about managerial techniques that can improve operational efficiency and human resource management.
