
Empowerment of MSMEs in Sinpasa Market-Summarecon Bandung: Digital Marketing and Creative Video Content Creation Training
Bandung, September 3, 2024 – Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) once again showed dedication in supporting the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Community Service (Abdimas) program. With the theme “Pelatihan Digital Marketing dan Pembuatan Konten Video Kreatif”, This activity took place at Pasar Sinpasa-Summarecon Bandung and involved beverage culinary MSME players as participants. Led by a team of lecturers from FEB Telkom University, namely Refi Rifaldi Windya Giri, ST., MBA (Ketua), Heppy Millanyani, Ph.D, and Dr. Maya Ariyanti, SE., MM, This program is also supported by the active role of students, namely Riska Aprilia, Rajwa Stania Basyiirah, and Nadya Teeresha.
The head of the service team, Refi Rifaldi Windya Giri, explained that this program was designed to answer the challenges faced by MSMEs in the digital era. “We see that in this era, MSMEs have great opportunities to grow, but are often constrained by limited knowledge and skills in utilizing digital technology. Through this program, we want to help MSME players understand digital marketing strategies, especially in creating video content that is relevant to social media trends, so that they can compete better, not only in the local market but also at a broader level,” said Refi. He added that this program also provides an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom in real activities that have a direct impact on society.
The training provided participants with strategic insights and practical skills, ranging from the importance of branding, creative video content creation, to social media management. Participants were taught how to build a strong brand image, differentiate their products from competitors, and create interesting content to increase engagement on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. In addition, they were also guided in the practice of taking pictures using simple devices such as smartphones and editing videos with applications such as Canva and CapCut. One of the standout results is the promotional video Es Cendol Sarasa, that showcases products with attractive visuals and manages to capture the attention of audiences on social media.
The results of this activity showed a significant impact. Feedback from participants indicated that the majority were satisfied with the training. A total of 64% of participants agreed and 36% strongly agreed that the training materials met their needs, while 78% stated that the duration of the training was sufficient. In addition, the participants also highly appreciated the services provided by the committee, with 68% of participants strongly agreeing that the service team provided friendly and responsive support.
Refi also underlined the importance of sustainability of programs like this. He hopes similar training can be conducted in the future, with a focus on more intensive mentoring and the introduction of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to create more innovative content. “We want to create a more inclusive and competitive MSME business ecosystem in the digital era. With collaboration between academics, MSME players, and the government, I believe that we can drive better local economic growth,” Refi concluded.
With the success of this program, FEB Telkom University not only shows its commitment to the Tridarma of Higher Education, but also strengthens its role as a strategic partner for MSMEs in facing the challenges of digitalization. This program is clear evidence of how collaboration between the academic world and the community can create a broad and sustainable positive impact.
