Creative Economy-Based Business Competency Improvement Training
MSMEs are one of the economic joints in Indonesia, especially in big cities. Bandung as the capital of West Java province, which is famous for its creative industry, has made MSMEs one of the leading sectors of the economy. Conventional MSME strategies require strategic locations, competitive prices and good quality to be the benchmark for business sustainability for MSMEs. For those who have sufficient capital strength, this is certainly not a significant problem.
The target community in this community service program is MSME activists who are assisted by Karang Taruna Kharisma Manggala Kebon Jeruk Village, who are now experiencing difficulties in facing competition from MSME activists from outside the city of Bandung. The large number of MSME activists from outside the city of Bandung has resulted in massive competition, the price of strategic land rents is increasingly expensive and the nature of the products and or services offered is homogeneous.
Creative Economy is one of the solutions that can be offered to MSME activists under the guidance of the Kharisma Manggala Youth Organization. Creative Economy-based businesses are businesses that are not based on products or situations and conditions, but are based on how individual business people are able to mobilize all levels of creativity so that their products can be sold. In addition to creativity, it is also how business actors are able to use all existing technology-based media to become a business support system.
On this basis, the Faculty of Economics and Business took the initiative to provide training in order to improve creative-based business competencies. In this program, the implementation team was chaired by one of the lecturers of the Bachelor of Business Management Telecommunications and Informatics (MBTI) study program, Muhammad Azhari, S.E., M.A.B with members and also presenters, Mediany Krisekaputri, S.K.G., M.A.B and assisted by students, Rifki Abrisan Yousuf. This activity was held on Thursday, November 23, 2024 at the Kebon Jeruk Village Office, Bandung City.
The training event was opened by the Head of the Economy and Development Section of Kebon Jeruk Village, which was then continued with the presentation of material and at the same time became a free discussion forum for Micro and Small Businesses in Kebon Jeruk Village to channel their problems and how solutions could be given to these problems. The participants consisted of 22 micro and small businesses, mostly in the culinary and fashion fields. After the presentation, the organizers also held door prizes by giving mini quizzes that were able to increase the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in this program until the end. The program ended with the handover of certificates and a group photo.
In delivering their verbal feedback, these Micro and Small Business actors hope for a prolonged mentoring and training program in order to always get continuous direction and solutions for their business continuity by applying the principles of digital-based creative economy from Telkom University, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business.
