Cost and Budgeting Training for Fish Processed MSMEs in SINPASA Modern Market, Bandung, West Java Province
Bandung, September 3, 2024 – Telkom University’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) continues to support the progress of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Community Service (Abdimas) program. With the theme “Cost and Budgeting Training for Fish Processed MSMEs”, this activity was held at SINPASA-Summarecon Bandung Modern Market, a local MSME empowerment center in the Gedebage area. This program involves culinary MSME players, especially in the processed fish sector, and is guided by a team of Telkom University FEB lecturers consisting of Andrieta Shintia Dewi, Fajra Octrina, Khairunnisa, and Wulandari Ayuningtyas.
The program aims to provide UMKM with in-depth training on effective financial management and budget planning. In this training, participants received material on how to calculate production costs, manage expenses, and prepare efficiency-oriented budgets. With this knowledge, UMKM players are expected to be able to make better financial decisions, improve cost efficiency, and maximize their business profit margins.
In addition, the training session also included an introduction to digital marketing strategies to help MSMEs expand their market reach. Materials such as social media usage, content marketing, and budget allocation for digital campaigns are comprehensively covered. This approach is designed to enable MSMEs to compete in an increasingly dynamic and competitive market in the digital era. The workshop is accompanied by group consultation sessions to ensure participants can apply the knowledge gained according to their specific business needs.
SINPASA Modern Market, which houses more than 117 tenants, became the strategic location for the implementation of this program. Fish processing MSMEs in the region play an important role in supporting food security and the local economy through products such as fish nuggets, fish balls and shredded fish. However, they also face various challenges, especially in financial management and digital technology adoption. With this training, UMKM are expected to be able to manage their businesses more professionally, improve efficiency, and expand their markets through innovative strategies.
This community service program is a concrete step by FEB Telkom University to support the sustainability of small and medium enterprises, while making a real contribution to regional economic growth. Through the empowerment of UMKM , FEB Telkom University not only encourages the success of individual business actors, but also provides a broader positive impact on the community and society. With knowledge
and skills acquired, the processed fish MSMEs in SINPASA Modern Market are expected to develop further and make greater contributions to the local and national economy.
