Abdimas Telkom University Improves Digital Competence of Students of SMK YPPS Sumedang
On December 12, 2024, SMK YPPS Sumedang received Community Service (Abdimas) activities from Telkom University. This vocational school offers excellent education programs in catering, fashion, and hospitality, with modern laboratories that support the learning process. With the curriculum and facilities available at SMK YPPS, graduates are expected to enter the business world, either by working in a company or starting an independent business.
However, one of the main problems that students face is the lack of awareness of the importance of digitally recording business transactions, which is an essential part of modern business management. To meet this need, this Abdimas program offers training on aspects of recording business transactions. To meet the needs of the contemporary business world, students get instruction on how to conduct systematic and technology-based record keeping.
Not only do students gain a new understanding of business accounting methods through these activities, but they are also incentivized to apply that knowledge in the labs of each course. Their hope is that they will have a more in-depth knowledge of the digital financial system, as this is crucial for entering the business world.
This activity is proof of Telkom University’s commitment to support the development of young generation skills through education that is relevant and applicable to industry needs. With this training, students of SMK YPPS Sumedang are expected to improve their knowledge and skills to be ready to compete in the increasingly competitive business world. The program also shows that vocational schools and higher education work together to produce good human resources.
